Nine hours ago I made my first public post on the r/Occult board of Reddit.
This showed me once more that people are definitely not ready to deal with revelations such as “Magic is Real”, and it makes it clear why the local governments keep them in the dark.
I posted the following, in the hope of starting some good conversations and perhaps getting a clue on starting to move towards the right direction:
Within minutes the post was downvoted and was flooded with comments of the following nature:
Someone even reported me thinking I need psychological help, resulting in Reddit sending me information for the Crisis lines! (Hilarious)
As you see in one of the comments, the user TheLazyPurpleWizard asked why they are coming at me so hard.
The answer is quite simple. People are NOT ready to face the truth. People with no ability or skill cannot fathom that others are able to practice magic. They think that because magic for them is “Awareness, Consciousness, Higher Self”, there is nothing more and none can do anything more. Therefore, they will dismiss and try to discredit everything beyond their abilities in order to avoid feeling inferior or realising they are the outsiders.
Even if you show them tangible proof they will deny it (trust me, I’ve done it in the past), because they would rather have that sense of “wonder” while being at their “mystical state of seeking”, than having the actual facts in front of them and realise that nothing is what they thought it was.
Of course, our societies have played a huge part on this. Either by political and financial manipulation, or disillusion techniques, such as the notorious “conspiracy concealment” (not actual name of the technique), they have managed to brainwash the Umanis that every time they get close to the truth, what they see is a lie.
After all, it is not a coincidence that all witnesses have been ridiculed, bribed, threatened, or much worse… and they have been labelled as crazy, conspiracy theorists, etc. to the public, so none can take them seriously. And of course, let’s not forget or ignore the fact that many of the current conspiracy theories are created and fuelled by the societies themselves, in order to flood the interwebs with so many conspiracies so they make it impossible for outsiders to tell which is true and which is not.
After all, when you are hiding something, you’d rather have people believe you are not right in the head, than having people knowing the truth. To put it in a more “mundane” example… You’d rather have people think a magazine lies when they say you are a billionaire, than having people asking you for money all day or abducting you for ransom…
Nonetheless, it is sad to see though, that on a forum of self-proclaimed “occultists”, people are so opposed to the very essence of occultism, and they have adulterated it to the point of not knowing what it is they are actually looking for.
